memorial day weekend pictures via iPhone

Being that it's Wednesday, I guess I could post on my Memorial Day. It was not as eventful as most of yours but it was wonderful for us! We kept it low key with a beach day, night out with friends, lots of desserts, and a True Blood marathon. (Who's excited for June 10th!?!?!)

{gorgeous beach day.. prior to the throngs of tourists hitting the sand}

 {prettiest outdoor eating a la Pane e Vino}

{the best bourban dessert. EVER. Via Hall's}

{Yes I ate this (with some help of course)}

Based on my food intake, I need to work out hour two hours everyday for the rest of my life to work off those two desserts.
They were worth every morsel.

Hope your week is flying by! The weekend is close already!

flaunt those clavicles ladies!

My girlfriend's and I had a conversation about clavicles recently; mainly because we were admiring our friend Erica's clavicles and how lovely she looked at her wedding.
She's gorgeous right?
And those clavicles... they go on for days.
So I started thinking about my own body, and how I take it for granted most of the time. And am too hard on myself for the little things when I should embrace all the good things. And my clavicles? Well they're one of the good things. They don't change. They're always there to be the perfect canvas for one of my many necklaces.
So having this realization led me to search for dresses that highlight my decolletage.

Aren't all these perfect for summer?! They're all from Nordstorms with the exception of the last two which are from LuLu's.

Clavicles not your strong area? No problem. Find that area on your body that you love... that area that you're not constantly berating in your own mind and flaunt it! Show those strong arms. Or flaunt your toned legs. Whatever it is... own it this summer!

Diabetes Matthews.

Sometimes I love the 'auto correct' function on the iPhone.
Please enjoy this text exchange between Guy and our friend Margaret.

Translation: Dave Matthews. Apparently 'Dave' and 'Diabetes' are one in the same to the iPhone.

And speaking of Diabetes Dave Matthews, Guy and I took a quick 3 hour trip up to Charlotte last night for the Dave Matthews Band concert. If you know me, you know I love Dave. And if you know me real well, you know I love The Head and the Heart. THATH happened to be opening for Dave so it was a no brainer that we were making the trip.

For as good as the iPhone camera is, it takes sub par pictures at concerts. This is all I could get...

As usual, Dave impressed and we had a great time. Even with a massive headcold that I'm convinced has caused my brain to swell.
I may be a bit of a hypochondriac.

It's almost Friday folks. And for that, I am happy.

the great gatsby.

The trailer is FINALLY here.
I've watched it three times already.  Beats watching Phillip Phillips rip Dave Matthews off.
But I digress.

I would see this movie for the costumes alone. Then you add Leo DiCaprio & Carey Mulligan.
Need I say more?

Enjoy!

wedding weekend via instagram

G and I spent the weekend in Milwaukee celebrating the marriage of two of my very favorite people Jimmy and Erica. I've known Erica since freshman year of college and she's been a rock in my life ever since. And her husband, Jimmy, is about as stand up of a guy as one can I find.
The weekend was filled with love, laughs, and so much happiness. I wouldn' t have wanted to spend the weekend anywhere else.

In other news, I drew a winner last night for the Shabby Apple $50 gift card.

if these walls could talk...

...they'd tell you Etsy is where it's at.
You may remember Guy and I recently moved into a new home so we're in the throws of decorating it. And by we... I mean me.
And because it's me, I've been scouring Etsy almost nightly to find gems for my barren walls.
Here are the lovelies I've found thus far:

 {via tkafka}

I haven't found a permanent home for this gorgeous piece yet. It's either going to go in our master bedroom or the main guest bedroom.

I framed this print and put it in our main guest bedroom. I love it!

{via addilyneli}

I'm obsessed with this piece. I special ordered it so it was the size I needed and added it to my kitchen. It's the perfect pop of color to my otherwise white & gray kitchen.

This amazing print is going to reside in my downstairs guest bath. I can't wait to frame it and hang it!

Do you have any favorite Etsy shops for paintings and prints? I have a lot of walls yet to fill!

birds of a feather...

In regards to my style, I tend to find something I like and I like it a whole lot. There was a period where I belted everything whether it needed it or not (And trust me, it did not). And then there was the time where I thought brown was my go to color (It is not).
Lately I'm fixated on birds. I can't get enough of birds on my clothing. A very odd thing indeed.
And then Kendi goes and wears this adorable sheer hummingbird top and I feel vindicated in my obsession.
Damn you Kendi.
So now I'm fighting the need to buy everything with birds on it but there are so many choices. Please buyers... stop buying bird fabric. I can't become the 'bird lady' at work. It's not a good look.

Oh, and I know the birds look like blobs in all of these pictures but trust me. They're tiny little birds all begging me to buy them.
                                                 {the top that shall forever be known as 'the kendi top'}
                                                       {birds on a wire; my personal favorite}
{penguins people. this dress has penguins!}

How can a creature so dirty be so very cute??

Anyways... back on topic. With the topic being necklaces.

Anthropologie is stepping into summer right with some beautiful neck adornments. Have a little look.

Aren't these perfection?! I'll take one of each please.
All from Anthropologie, prices ranging between $48 and {gasp}$148.

hi, i'm morgan.

I used to blog around here. I took a wee bit of a break. A month break to be exact. I felt overwhelmed by my blog and I refuse to allow something that is purely for fun overwhelm me. So I took a break. Exited the blogosphere.
You know what? I missed it. I missed posting things I love. I missed posting about my silly little adventures. And most of all I missed you fine guys and gals!

So I'm back. Maybe not back daily. But back nonetheless.

Missed you!

And no... I'm not pregnant. That seemed to be the most common guess from you inquisitive little ladies.

xoxo
