dearly beloved...we are gathered today...

I have a pounding headache and ringing in my ears this morning dear friends.
But for good reason...because I was dancing to PRINCE last night!
Good gracious that man is sassy! He wore platform heels. He's as tiny as a petite woman and he wore more sequins than a trannie.
I. LOVED. IT.

{the man, the symbol, the legend}

{purple rain!!!!}

{purple confetti & gold sequins}

{the perfect way to spend a wednesday night!}

I have a full day of work today so it's going to be a loooonnng day. Well worth it though.
Hope you're enjoying your Thirsty Thursday!

pinterest wednesday: baby edition

I randomly stumbled upon some cute baby inspired Pinterest photos yesterday and thought I'd share. Hopefully someone that is much closer to the baby phase in their life can use these for inspiration!

Love everything about this.
Polaroids? Check.
Different color tshirts each month? Check.
Adorable baby at the end? Check Check!

Dying over this guitar onesie! Too adorable for words!

A circus theme birthday party? Sign me up.
This would work for a 31st birthday party right?!

Happy Wednesday!

hawaii date night.

As excited as I am for the wedding, I'm equally excited for our honeymoon in Hawaii! I've already started to think about what to pack. I need swimsuits, cover ups, and flips.
Rinse and Repeat.
That said, I did want a fun but casual date night outfit... on the cheap.
Here's what I came up with.
Hawaii
Dress, Sunglasses, Necklace, Bracelets, & Hat - Forever 21
Shoes - Seychelle on Piperlime

I can't wait until my biggest worry is what swimsuit to wear and what cocktail to have in my hand.
T minus six weeks!!!

Tiffany's; nothing very bad can happen to you there.

You know where the quote from my post title is front?
Breakfast at Tiffany's.
And you know why that is important?
Because I just got back from New York City for my bachelorette weekend and my girlfriends threw me a 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' weekend! I can't even tell you how amazing of a weekend it was. My bridesmaids went all out and made me feel so special the entire weekend. I wish I had taken more pictures but I was having too much fun!
We stayed at The London NYC and let me tell you, if I can help it, I'll never stay anywhere else in NYC.
On top of the hotel being beautiful, it was celebrity central! We say Will Ferrell checking in and saw papparazzi waiting for 'Phil Dunphy' from Modern Family!

We got a suite so all five of us could stay in the same room and they decorated it with Tiffany blue streamers, balloons, and flowers!

And I of course had to take a picture of the cupcakes. Crumbs cupcakes to be exact.
They are as amazing as you've heard!

We immediately popped champagne, opened my beautiful gifts (including a Tiffany's necklace!) and had a dance party in the suite because we were so excited to be together.
Notice my Audrey crown - perfect for the theme.

Saturday afternoon we walked, shopped, ate,and drank our way through the city.

Speaking of shopping... here is some of the damage.

Saturday night we got dressed in black, put on our pearls in honor of Audrey, and had dinner at Bobby Flay's Bar Americain. Delicious!
After dinner we hit up Gordon Ramsey's bar, which was near our hotel and lo and behold the band Further (otherwise known as The Grateful Dead) was there. Crazy right?! Even crazier is that we were talking to them for a solid 20 minutes before the bartender pulled us aside and let us know that we were talking to the great Bob Weir.

Bob and the ladies!
We got zero sleep Saturday night and all had to head home on Sunday.
As you can imagine I'm exhausted but oh so happy. A big THANK YOU to my girls for such a memorable weekend!
Can't wait to catch up on your blogs tonight!

See you Monday!

homemade chips

I came home last night to Guy slicing and frying potatoes to make homemade chips.
This made me a happy girl.
Have you made chips at home? They're way better than any chips you can buy in the store.

{as simple as 1-2-3}

{perfectly crispy}

{here little chippy chippy}

So that's all. Just some gluttonous, fried goodness for your Thursday.

tea shirts.

No, I didn't spell my post title wrong. Look at how cute these 'hanger' tea bags are!

So clever! They're the brainchild of Soon Mo Kang but it doesn't look like they're for sale. Wish they were; they'd be the perfect gift for a tea lover!
In the meantime I'll stick with my Tazo tea.

Time to get my caffeine fix!

mission: jewelry organization

I spent my Sunday morning organizing my jewelry. Less because I wanted to, more because I'm sick and needed to do something rather than watch a tenth episode of 'Say Yes to the Dress.'
I was also inspired because I won the gorgeous lucite tray from Tilly Maison on Bijou & Boheme.

{my gorgeous new tray}

{my new jewelry display}
{just need to find the perfect mirror to lean against the wall and I'll be set}

{a girl can never have too many earrings}

{putting my tray to good use with my cocktail rings and gold bangles}

{close up on my bracelet tree}

Now to find the perfect mirror... to Ebay I go!
Happy Monday!

fun with sticks.

I'm back from D.C. and exhausted. Thought I'd do a little Saturday evening pinning.
I found two adorable DIY's I had to share.

{such an adorable way to display your cutest baby clothes}

{such a fun coat rack!}

That's all for now.... time to relax with some wine & trash TV.
Have a great rest of your weekend!

happiness on this wednesday.

{via}

I love the print above.... mostly because, you guessed it, it incorporates yellow and gray. I'll be finding a spot for this print in my home soon. Yup Yup. Sure will.
In the meantime, thought I'd share what's making me happy on this random Wednesday.
First....

Prince baby! He announced he's coming to Charleston on March 30 and we got tickets! I can't wait! Who wouldn't want to go to a Prince concert?! The man is a legend! I'm already planning my outfit. One has to look good for Prince.
Second....
These gray flower shoe clips. I've ordered these to add to my (yet to be found) perfect yellow shoe. I haven't received them yet but I know I'll love.
Last....
I'll be in Washington D.C. for St Patty's Day. I'm attending a conference in DC for a few days and will be celebrating Thursday with a green beer and hopefully some delicious tapas! I love any holiday that requires beer and the color green.
SOLD.

Happy Wednesday friends!

yay or nay: ombre hair

We're not focusing on fashion for this week's round of 'Yay or Nay'.... instead we're zeroing in on ombre hair. I'm giving this trend a big YAY with a side of huzzah!

{clearly this was prior to her current platinum pixie cut}

{one of the only blonde ombre hair styles I could find}

{always a trendsetter... Drew was one of the first to try ombre}

{SJP}

So what do you think?
 Loving? Haiting? Indifferent?

a 'cheer me up' kind of date night.

Friday I had a disaster of a wedding hair trial. I went in thinking I wanted some sort of 'up do' and when my amazing hairstylist delivered.... I had a mini meltdown and panic attack. What I thought I wanted all along turned out not to be the case. Even though Emily had done a lovely job... I hated what I saw in the mirror and didn't feel like 'me.' She tried two other styles, to no avail. So she took it down and what was left were some beautiful curls that surprisingly had me feeling the most like 'me' since I had got there.

So Guy and I had a lovely little date night inspite of it all. I may not know what I'm going to do on my wedding day but I do know what I'm not doing. That's something right?!
And while we were trying to set up the timer to get the above picture.... the below picture snapped and I thought I would post. I was proud of my outfit for the night. : )

Hope you had a relaxing weekend!

current color obsession: yellow & gray

Due to my wedding colors being yellow and gray... all I can think of lately is the color combination. It's a good thing I haven't just bought a new home because each and every room would be yellow and gray!
I've found so much inspiration lately... I just had to share on this lovely Friday.

{love the retro feel}

{perhaps the coolest stairs to ever exist}

{literally 'love' this headboard}

{chair perfection}

{what amazing use of the space!}

{yellow lined drawers? so pretty}

{my perfect living room}

{from the bedside table, bed cover, and head board...swoon}

Oh yellow and gray... how I love thee.

Happy Friday loves! Remember to keep the people of Japan (and Hawaii!) in your thoughts.

remember to smile.

{i could use this right about now}

It's truth time.
The wedding planning is taking it's toll.
We're getting down to the wire... less than two months to go... and the day to day decisions are starting to wear on me. I feel like I can't escape the planning. There is always an email, voicemail, question, statement, etc waiting for me to respond to. And I know I'm no different than any other bride but I'm here to state from this bride... it ain't easy.
I'm tried of thinking about the wedding... I just want to be married. Is that too much to ask?
But I asked for this and now is the time to execute. And I have to remind myself that it is all a means to an end. And that end means marrying my Guy.
So I'm going to take my smile and keep on keepin' on. What is that saying? Stay Calm and Carry On? That has become my wedding motto.
Hope you're enjoying your Wednesday. For some reason it's felt like Wednesday all week so this is my third Wednesday of the week. Let's hope it's a good one!
xoxo
