oh anne... why oh why??

Sigh.
Love Anne but so don't love this look. Did she fire her stylist? Does she hate the movie 'Rio' so much that she threw a big fashion FU at it?
So confused.

a perfect friday night in charleston.

At the last minute on Friday, Guy and I decided to go to Eye Level Art for a night of acoustic music.
Being at Eye Level Art in of itself is a fun evening as it's an old warehouse turned contemporary art gallery in downtown Charleston. Add acoustic music to that scene and we're in heaven.

Remember Collective Soul? Anyone else rock out to them in the 90's like I did? Anyways, that's Ed Roland on the right and he sounds the exact same. I felt like I was in middle school all over again!

Patrick Davis... a little bit country, a whole lot of southern

Caleb Slade - brother of Isaac Slade of 'The Fray' but don't hold that aganist him. After seeing him, I'm officially a f-a-n. Check out his music here. He writes intelligent, haunting and truly beautiful music. I can't imagine someone not liking him. I think he's on the verge of blowing up.

It's nights like these that I'm so thankful to be in Charleston. Guy and I have made a resolution to really make an effort and have more nights out like this.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Anyone else have beautiful weather like we did? We were in the 60's and 70's all weekend!!

happy early birthday to ME!

I'm one of those annoying people that buy what I want instead of giving people ideas so they can get it for me. Guy has repeatedly asked me what I want for my birthday and I can never think of anything at the moment and then I turn around and buy multiple things online! It's funny really... probably more so for me and less for him. : )

Speaking of recent purchases..... I consider these little birthday gifts to myself!

{such a unique wristlet! love the geometric pattern....}

{love this beauty! can't wait to get it on my finger!}

Am I alone here? Do you tend to buy for youself instead of waiting and having your significant other give to you?
TGIF!!!!! Wishing you all a fantastic weekend?

it's all in the numbers.

I realized yesterday that there are a lot of important numbers in my life right now....

6 days...
...until I turn 30. THIRTY. That's big time folks.

99...
...days until the wedding!! We're less than 100 days away!

18....
...days until I get to try my dress on again!

15...
....days overdue for an eyebrow wax. They're not pretty.

102...
...days until I'm lounging poolside in Hawaii!!!

So there are my numbers!
Hope you're all having a fantastic Thursday.... only two more days before the weekend!

zach morris approved.

{i may or may not have been obsessed with zach morris. he was pretty dreamy.}
{i may or may not have begged my parents for the bag cell phone because of zach morris}

My mom sent me a forward the other day but was actually helpful so I thought I would pass along.
Here are a couple 'did you knows' about cell phones:

1. The emergency number worldwide is 112. No matter where you are, whether you have coverage or not, it works.

2. You have super low cell phone battery. Press *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with the reserve battery and the phone will show a 50% increase in battery power. The reserve will get charged the next time you charge your phone.

3. Imagine you lose your phone or it gets stolen. Hopefully you've started the serial number away so you can turn it off? Don't know how to find that number... I'll help. :) Dial *#06# This will show you your 15 digit serial number. Store this somewhere safe.
If you phone does get lost or stolen, call your cell phone company and give them this number. They are then able to block your handset.

Did you know any of these??
Full disclosure: I have not tried any of these but I'm hoping they're true!

gluttony.

I had the most gluttonous (is that a word?) meal last night and I loved every minute. My parents took Guy & I out for a pre birthday meal.... I turn thirty in two weeks but my mom will be gone over my birthday so we did a little birthday meal. I'm really not even ready to think about being thirty yet so let's move on to the meal.
We ate at Huck's which is a newish restaurant to the Lowcountry but I've loved it every time I've been.

{Isle of Palms has a new favorite spot}

{Guy's hanger steak}

{my plate full o' goodness...otherwise known as fried chicken}

{add a little creme brulee (and key lime pie) and you have four full bellies}

In other food news....
...this made it's way into my grocery bag. Meaning the person in front of me bought these but they didn't make it into their bag. They did, however, find their way into my bag.
Someone with digestive issues is cursing me right now....
(in related news... prunes are not good)

Here's to a fast Friday and a slow weekend!

is less always more?

I. Love. Jewelry.
One of my favorite things to do in the morning is pick out the baubles and jewels I'll be wearing for the day. I tend to load my fingers and arms full of beauties but by the time I walk out the door I'm only wearing one or two pieces. I'm in a constant struggle on how many is too many? Is less always more?
Interested in hearing your thoughts!

So which are you? One and done or the more the merrier?

some wedding truths.

Some Wedding Truths.....

....you think you'll need a year to be engaged to get everything done but you don't! You'll actually wish you had less time to plan and more time to be married.

...the colors set the tone for your entire day... choose wisely!

...you'll be more grateful for your mom than you've ever been.

...you'll wish you could go dress shopping on a monthly basis! Once is just not enough!

...the wedding day is yours and your fiances. Make decisions that are right for the two of you... listen to other opinions but ultimately this is your day. If you're true to the two of you... you can't go wrong.

...you'll consume yourself with the details but in the end all that matters is he is waiting at the end of the aisle to say 'I do.' To you.

....and speaking of 'he', you'll pinch yourself multiple times knowing that he's going to be your husband soon. You're going to be a family.

I'm less than four months from marrying my best friend! I couldn't have imagined what a learnnig process planning a wedding would truly be. Lots of 'ups', a few 'downs' but all worthwhile if in the end I get to marry my Guy in May.

weekend scenes.

My weekend isn't over yet (hooray for MLK Day!) but I thought I'd update you on the lovely weekend I did have. It was filled with lots of fun and relaxation. Date night Friday night, a baby shower Saturday, a hike Sunday, and lots of relaxation today.

{Rue de Jean's famous mussles}

{the perfect ending to a date night out}

{a Sunday hike in Sewee}

{a peaceful oyster bed along our hike}

{our homes newest addition!}

{the perfect bench found at Marshall's}

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Anyone watch the Golden Globes? The dresses were a let down for me... I only saw a handful that were worthy of the event....

counting down the hours...

...until a three day weekend!

One would think I hadn't just had holiday vacation based on my excitement to have the next three days off from work. Honestly, I think it's because this has been a long week of being sick, being stressed, and dealing with lots of unknowns. But soon the week will be over and I can enjoy a weekend full of bowling with friends, Golden Globes viewing, and cuddling with the soon-to-be Mr.

Wishing you all a very eventful yet relaxing weekend!

when you need more than just icing

Guys' and my wedding is less than 4 months away which is both comforting and crazy. We have most of the big 'to dos' completed and now have a lot of the fun details to plan. One of those is our cupcake topper. We knew immediately we wanted to do cupcakes for our wedding so that choice was easy. What's proving to be difficult is do we just want one cupcake topper? Or a cute topper on each cupcake? Will I go the DIY route or use Etsy?
The good news is we have options... and plenty of them. Here are just a few I'm loving...

gut check.

Sometimes I have to give myself a gut check.

Am I a good person?
Yes.
Am I working to make myself better?
Yes.
Do I treat my family and friends with love and respect?
Yes.
Am I happy with myself?
Yes.

It's easy to let the 'noise' of life get in your way. To make you doubt yourself. What's hard is standing up for what you know you can do and what you know is right. And I'm not talking about what's right for the masses..... but what is right for you
Ultimately, if you aren't accountable to you, who can you be accountable to?

turbans... yay or nay?

Alrights friends... for our latest round of 'Yay or Nay' I present you with...
TURBANS!
What do you think? Too trendy? Love them? Hate them?
Personally I think they're a bit silly and would never wear one but I have to admit a few of these ladies (namely Kate Moss) pull them off!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts!
Happy Tuesday!
