morgan christmas movie reviews

Like many of you, the holidays are the perfect time for my family and I to head to the movies. We knew immediately what movies we wanted to see this season. In retrospect, they weren't the most holiday-ish movies but that's what the Hallmark channel is for right?!
We first saw Mission Impossible and LOVED it. I hadn't seen the last two so I wasn't sure if I would like this but ended up loving it. As crazy as Tom may be in real life, he's a damn good Ethan Hunt. Love me some Jeremy Renner as well so he was a bonus reason to go. Definitely hit this up if you haven't yet. It's a solid two hours of entertainment.

If you've been reading my blog for a while you know I was all about these books and have been waiting impatiently for the movie ever since. The first thing I would say is that this movie is not for the faint of heart. There are some graphic scenes. While they're needed to tell the story properly they're leaning on the too graphic side in my opinion. Beyond that, the movie is fantastic and follows the story nicely. It leaves out what's not needed and makes sure to include what is for the next movie. Everyone we went with had read the book except my brother and he said he followed the movie just fine. (There are so many Vangers, I'm not sure I could have without reading the book!)

What movies have you seen this break? Any that I should run out and see before work next week?
xoxo

I was definitely cringing in my seat a bit during Dragon Tattoo, but with that said I still loved it! I really hope they make the next two books into films. I've been hearing good things about MI2 as well.

I saw Dragon Tattoo as well....and I think if I hadn't read the books first, I would have been a bit more...uh....traumatized...by the graphic scenes, but since I knew they were coming, I guess I was prepared. NOT that they were fun to watch! Yikes.

I went to see TGWTDT with my parents - FAIL! I hadn't read the book first, so I had no idea what was coming. Oops!! My mom wanted to see War Horse, but it sold out to the people in front of us. I liked the movie, but think I would have followed better had I read the book first.

I enjoyed TGWTDT just fine. I thought it was very well made and a solid movie. The problem I did have was that since I had not read the book, I had a hard time following who was who. From younger to older. Gave me some trouble.

I haven't read the books yet... but I did want to see the movie. My parents saw it and liked it... but now that you've advised it's a bit graphic not so sure. I don't handle graphic very well...
