is she really taking pictures of her food?

Being a blogger is such a rewarding part of my life. I started blogging in 2009 because I needed a hobby, felt I had something to say, and had fallen in love with a few blogs and felt I could do it. I forget sometimes that everyone else isn't a blogger so things I do may seem odd or weird to them.
Taking pictures of my food would be culprit numero uno.
Guy and I had date night Saturday night and went to one of our favorite restaurants Cru Cafe. As soon as we got our entrees, I did what I always do. Whipped out my camera, started messing with the settings, and  snapped some shots. Immediately after doing this last night, I hear (in a whisper) "Is she really taking pictures of her food?" I had to smile, continued to snap and passed the camera to Guy to get a picture of his. Before he could, the same woman immediately stands up and says she'll take a picture of the two of us. Normally a nice thing to do but I think she was honestly confused by what was going on and decided to take control herself to snap a picture she felt necessary. After taking the picture, she sits down and says to her husband "Much better than a picture of fish."
I had to giggle.

Fellow bloggers... please tell me you've had similar situations?!

Hope you all had relaxing weekend! Happy Monday!

That's so funny! And one of the reasons I don't blog about/take pictures of my food. That and also b/c you probably don't want to see pictures of my McD's Big Mac which is about as fancy as we get nowadays.

I most definitely have had a similar experience!! I don't think taking pics of your meals should be so shocking to people and they should also mind their own business. It does make for funny stories though!

I have more pictures of my food in Paris than I do of me and famous places. I do it every good meal I have. Keep taking pictures...as I want to see them! She obviously does not love food as much as us...and perhaps is one of those people that "eats to live" vs. "lives to eat" and for that I am sad for her...

Oh my gosh YES! I was in New Orleans and this very snotty man looks at me while I was taking the picture and then goes to his partner "are you trying to remember what it looks like?" or something rude like that and then Nick goes to him, "she has a food blog in Seattle." We actually ended up chatting with them and they seemed like pleasant people, but I didn't understand why he felt he had to make a snotty comment purposely so I could hear. Oh well - I got the picture! ;)

No one has every said anything, but I am always uber paranoid when I take food pictures in public that everyone is staring at me!

yes! and it really depends on the restaurant vibe too. sometimes I have no prob whipping out my camera but other times I feel shy. I've never actually heard any comments though. How rude!!

at least you got a cute pic of you two :)
