can you pack too many shoes?

Alright ladies.
If you were going to Italy for 10 days, and the weather is in the 60's, how many pair of shoes would you pack?
This is my current struggle.
Please help.
And while you're thinking... drool over this shoe collection.
This woman has over 60 pair of nude/gold shoes. I counted.
Amazing.....

I think you should pack one pair of shoes so that you'll have no choice but to buy all kinds of Italian beauties while you're there! :)

I agree with Claire! Definitely bring some comfy flip flops and walking shoes and buy the cute ones while you are there. Florence has the best shoes you've ever seen in your life!

I like the opinions of above! :) In all honesty I'd probably go with 5 or so. Flops, tennis shoes, cute comfy flat, and 2 cute evening pumps. Or maybe a pump and boot? I'd actually probably end up with 6 pairs! :) and bring an extra empty bag for your goodies you purchase there! :) I have a great HUGE 4 wheel suitcase if you need to borrow it?

Claire has a very valid point. We honeymooned in Italy and you do a ton of walking, so rule out any shoes that are uncomfy. I would say 3 or 4, or 1 or 2 and get some there.

This is hard, but I'm leaning on the magic number 4! One pair of comfy walking sneakers, flip flops, and 2 different pairs of dressy heels, flats, or wedges :) Shoes unfortunately take up a lot of room in a suitcase!

I would pack two... maybe three. But I am an uber light packer :)
What part of Italy are you going to?? My cousins live in Sansepolcro. I so badly want to visit them someday...

I took two pairs of shoes when I spent a month 1/2 traveling abroad. One pair of comfy shoes that got beat up walking everywhere that looked decent with 90% of my clothes and then a pair of flats for evenings out or just when I wanted to look nicer on a day when there wasn't so much walking.

I bought 2 pairs of shoes before I left Italy.... :-)

Claire is definately thinking right!! But I was going to say 3: tennis shoes, dress shoes, and something simple like flip flops or slip ons. Hope that helps!

This closet is what I need!! Shoes for Italy: One pair of cute walking shoes for upper 60s (loafers), one pair of flat boots for walking for lower 60s, two heels for dinner.

amazing?? hmm. she must be INCREDIBLY wealthy, i can't even imagine. too me that is a tad extravagant. But anyway... I agree with most people here... cute walking shoes (flats), boots (heels/flats), and two cute heels. PLUS flip flops!

1 pair of heels max, a flat boot, cute flats for dinners and walking shoes. You'll walk a lot at night too in Florence and cobblestone's a b-word in heels. Flops are light and easy to pack I guess but not good for walking around the city, especially if its cooler.
