cities to live in to put a ring on it.

I heard recently over the radio that the 2010 Top 10 Cities to live in if you're a single woman are:
10. Austin, TX
{I love it here. One of my favorite cities by far! If I didn't love Charleston so much, I would move here in a heartbeat.}
9. Dallas
{Not a huge fan of Dallas myself but there must be something great about it!}
8. Pittsburgh
{Never been...anyone live there and love it?}
7. Denver
{Love me some Denver. So much to do and apparently a lot of single men!}
6.Phoenix
{Love to visit Phoenix but don't think I could live here. There's not enough green!}
5. Philadelphia
{Have been here twice. Like it, don't love it. Not sure this would be high on my places to live.}
4. Seattle
{Love Seattle! I would live here for sure... and the plethera of men is a bonus!}
3. New York, New York
{If you've been following my blog for a while.. you know love NYC and would live here in a heart beat.}
2.Washington D.C.
{My brother lives here and likes it but the traffic and amount of people get to be a bit much I hear.}
And the number 1 city to live in if you're single.......
BOSTON!
{Never been... but dying to go!}

Do you live in any of these places? Agree or disagree with the list?
I will tell you one thing.... Charleston. SC is an amazing place to live but NOT the place for single women. Why? Because there are a zillion beautiful, smart, and motivated women in this city. It's a man's dream really.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
xoxo

I live in DC...well a suburb of DC and even though I'm engaged now it took me a LONG time to find my fiance. Yes there are lot of single guys here but most of them are douches and are way to focused on their careers to really consider having actual relationships. At least that seems to be the case for guys in their 20's.

hey i live 20 minutes away from DC!!!! im there like every weekend with my daughter just to go :)if i could afford DC living i would move there in a heartbeat!!!! and yess i agree with SG if they're not douches they are all about their careers not that its a bad thing but it leaves no space for a relationship...

OK. I've got to call BS on NYC. I've never been single here, but I have more single girlfriends than I can count. It's practically impossible for a sister to get a date. Too many women, not enough men.

Huh, Minneapolis must not be on there because we have --- huh?? I cannot think of a reason! We are on EVERY list? Why aren't we on this one?

Booo! ;)

I so want to visit Charleston! And Seattle too.

Boston, been there. Loved it.

If I was still single, I would definitely be in Denver. Men love to be out doors and there are so many of them EVERYWHERE!!

yep... i live about 1/2 hour from denver and stylebyrachael is right. if you're looking for a rugged, jeep driving, adventurous guy, denver's the place to be. i can honestly say that i don't have ANY single friends here. haha.

i have lived in two of these places!!! spent most of my life in phoenix, az as this is where i was (basically) born and raised! go back often and while i agree couldn't live there now that i've been spoiled with lovely green all around...but i enjoyed my childhood there and it will always hold a special place in my heart!

and seattle!!! while i didn't live IN seattle i lived just south and i would move back in a milisecond given the chance! LOVE IT!!!!

i would also live in: nyc, boston or denver! never been to the first two but i know we would get along just fine!

Wow, I lived in Boston for 5 years and now I live just outside of it. I never would have guessed it would be #1!! I'm so shocked haha. I don't really like Boston very much compared to other cities, it's no NYC and I loooooove NYC.

eh. i'd only live in 2 out of those 10 cities because california is where it's at. but then i'm not single so i don't have to worry about that :)

NYC? SATC, anyone?!? LOL

I lived in Boston for four years while I was in college, and I have always lived close enough to say "that's where I'm from," but I don't know that it's the top place for single women! I didn't meet very many acceptable, eligible bachelors in Boston. Plus, if you're a woman who hates sports, forget it! The majority of Boston men are either die-hard sports fans or smart geeks (due to the Harvard/MIT proximity). Not that I'm complaining about that!

that said, I think I would live in any of these cities! I've been to half of them: Boston, NYC, Philly, Phoenix and D.C.

Come to Austin, TX ladies :) It's a great town with a multitude of cultures, live music everywhere, great adventure opportunities and a laid back vibe that you can't find anywhere else. Just my .02

I'll tell you where NOT to live... south florida. The single guys are douchebags :)

Yeahhhhhhh . . . I notice my city (San Francisco) does not appear on that list. There are plenty of attractive men, none of whom are even thinking about settling down (or a serious relationship) until they hit around 40. Till then, outta luck. Geez Louise. Maybe I should embrace my roots and move back to the south; at least the boys there aren't afraid of commitment! :)

I grew up just outside of Boston and it completely LOVELY. Ocean and trees and a city skyline?! Awesome. Plus there's always SO much to do.

And I LOVE D.C., I would live there tomorrow if I could.

I think it really depends on the people who live in the cities and where they situate themselves. It's hard to rely on statistics only I think. :)
