five beauty secrets.

While traveling recently, I read an article in some random magazine about 'Secrets Every Beauty Editor Knows. ' I found it interesting and thought you might too.
1. The obvious, water. But eight glasses a day is not needed. Just drink enough so that you're not thirsty. Also, if you drink a glass of water before you eat, you'll be less inclined to overeat.

2. Use SPF 15 everyday, rain or shine. (again obvious, but can you all say you do this??)

3. Always treat your hands and neck the way you treat your face. The skin on the neck is thinner than the skin on the face, yet most women don't care for it well. Same goes for the hands. (this is the one that hit me the most... a friend told me about this a year ago and I've been trying my damnedest to follow ever since)

4. There's gold in the drugstores. Take advantage of the bounty of inexpensive cleansers, moisturizers, and treatments that work just as well as luxery brands. The large cosmetic companies that produce drugstore products want you to be loyal to them, so they don't skimp on their research and development.

5. Good deeds= good looks. Studies show that a person who looks happy is perceived as more attractive than someone who looks sad. So do something kind of someone. And smile while you're doing it.

Your turn! Tell me one of your beauty secrets!
xoxo

i think #5 is the most important! you can put whatever you want on your skin as often as you want, but if you're still frowning, you're still not as pretty! great post!! :)

you mean to tell me that downing this coffee like there's no tomorrow while sitting in front of a computer screen at a miserable job isn't part of the five beauty secrets?!

i kid, i kid. nailtiques helps my finger nails look strong and beautiful... i would say that's a beauty secret! :)

My facial moisturizer (and my foundation) has SPF 15. So I can honestly say that I wear sunscreen every day, at least on my face. It’s an easy way to get it in without thinking about it. I guess now I need to get sunscreen in my regular body lotion as well.

I always skimp out on the SPF. It's a horrible thing, I rarely even use it during the summer. I guess I still believe in that myth that if you wear it you never get tan. I'll try low doses of it to start with.

WATER IS THE BEST. I drink a liter of it a day and am trying to increase. I used to hate drinking water but I eventually switched out my tea for water and it's worked wonders.

This is probably a well known fact, but I rub Vitamin E oil onto my cuticles before I go to sleep. My nails haven't broken or flaked for ages because of it!

Ahh haa! I love the last tip best. Someone with a stink eye or nasty look on their face is so not pretty. Lol.

Happy tuesday morgan!

Good stuff, Morgan. Thanks for sharing with us! I've done much better drinking water lately, and yes, I always wear SPF15 on my face, rain or shine (it's in my facial moisturizer). I also need to take better care of my hands... they show my age more than anything else.

Water.... I need to remember to drink a GALLON of it before I go out for Italian. I eat like an 800 pound man when there's pasta in front of me.

Secrets... hmmmm... I finally (only took about 30 years) have my stupid and annoying acne under control. It took a lot of futzing with medication from my derm, but finally found an antiobotic that works. Combine that with a good skin care regime from L'Occitane, and I am happy to say I actually have great, clear skin :) When I do feel a zit coming on (usually finals time... damn the stress), I use the mino ZENO. It's a little machine thing that sends concentrated bursts of heat into your skin. LOVE IT. It's pretty much magic.
I so should be studying... but I treat myself to a 10 minute break every few hours or so. Your blog was my break this time around.. thanks :)

I used to try and drink 8 glasses of water a day. I spent the whole day in the bathroom. I am glad that people are coming to their senses and realizing that is too much water for some of us.

My mom told me when I was like 12 (20 years ago) to use facial moisterizer with SPF 15 ore more from forehead to neck. I am glad she did! And I still get carded!
