it's a sauce-off ya'll!

Guy is a great cook.
Guy's sister Melinda is a great cook.
While in Albany, we thought it would only be appropriate to have a....
SAUCE OFF!
The rules:
1. Use any ingredients available in the house.
2. No tasting each others sauce.
3. Smack talk the entire time.
You see, Guy & Melinda have very different cooking styles. Guy falls on the healthier side while Melinda... well... she loves butter. Lots of butter. Julia Child style. Her love of butter and Guy's clear avoidance is what spurned this 'sauce off' in the first place.
{Melinda's on the left, Guy on the right}
{Guy wants everyone to know his bowl prevented his from photographing as well as Melinda's. Ha!}

{Pride Personified}

{Melinda & her pasta}
In the end, there was no clear winner. The other siblings didn't want the wrath of the other sibling so they wouldn't give an opinion. The nieces tied in opinion between the two and I was smart enough not to give mine; I'm still trying to get in with this family people!
Do you have a clear cut 'chef' in the family??
xoxo

I've been told to stay out of the kitchen more than once. Good think the bf can cook! And I always love going home to mom's because she's great at cooking.

I like my sauce more tomato-y. with BIG CHUNKS of tomato, so I'd probably steer clear of her sauce :)

thank you love. it's 8:07am in Texas and I want pasta. THANKS! ;)

Well neither my hubs or I are chefs so I rely on Lean Cuisine to get me through the days... My Dad however is a GREAT cook! I love going home and getting his BIG family breakfasts he makes... yummm

My mother used to be the chef, but since I've developed an obsession with the Food Network I have taken over that position. Since both my family and my bf's live in two different states, our local family has been decreased to just the two of us. I do 95% of the cooking. Bf cooks the chicken&veggies, while I whip up the fancy stuff!

What a fun idea! I also avoid too much butter but it does make some things taste better. Both pastas look great! Both my parents are awesome cooks so they are tied for sure lol.

btw, I'm having a giveaway! feel free to come enter :)

My dad, since he left work, has become the chef at my parents' house. OMG, he mixes this and throws in a pinch of that and comes up with the most amazing stuff sometimes. I don't know where he was hiding the first 23 years of my life! Oh yeah... he was busy working and supporting us... :-) That pasta looks delish. I'm getting hungry again!

haha! i am the only one cooking at home now. the cats don't contribute one iota to such thing. but i think i would be the primary cook in a relationship unless i REALLY scored one hell of a dude! FINGERS CROSSED!!! :)
