we can't have all the virtues right?

I'm a work in progress.
I'm an extremely impatient person. It's something I hate about myself.
I wish I could snap my fingers & change.
Yesterday was an excerise in patience and I failed.
I had an up and back trip to Washington D.C. for work and felt worked by the end of the day. For no reason at all. All because I can't keep my impatience in check. For example....
- The plane didn't board when my ticket said it would. Not happy.
- The person in front of me in the Metro line paid for his Metro passes with change. $8 worth. It was painfully slow.
- My coworker planned our trip. We got in to DC at 9a. Our meeting wasn't until 1:30p. We sat at a Starbucks. For more than 4 hours. I don't have the patience for that.
- The woman in front of me at the security check point was more into talking on her phone than getting through the checkpoint. That's 5 minutes I'll never get back.
- The guy next to me on the plane? Yeah. He was a skin picker. I almost went apeshit on his ass. You KNOW how I feel about this.

So there was my Thursday. Nothing for the record books but I got some self awareness out of it so that's something? Anyone know any good books on patience?
Nevermind.. who am I kidding... I couldn't get through the thing.

Wishing you a very happy Friday and an even better weekend!
xoxo

Haha, you sound just like me. I do not have patience for much. Let's just call it a work in progress.

Wow, what a day! I hope you have an awesome weekend to make up for it. As much as I love Starbucks, four hours is a bit much!

My poor friend... sounds like a not so great day for you... I used to be impatient and somehow, I've mellowed out. Not sure how or why... but I surprise myself now and then at how much I go with the flow and have stopped needed to plan each minute and have things work like clockwork. But we all have vices... that's what makes each one of us who we are... so don't worry about it for too long. You more than make up for your impatient self with so many other amazing qualities :)

I know what you mean. Wasting time is the thing I hate most in the world. Maybe that's not actually true, but that sure is how it feels. I wish I had something that worked for me that I could share with you, but truth is, I'm trying to figure it out as well. If you have any great epiphanies please share.

what a day! i've learned patience, but it's hard sometimes. learning something about yourself makes up for it, though...:) have a great weekend!

I find that telling myself I have no patience becomes self-fulfilling. Generally, I do best if I can get myself to accept unalterable unpleasant circumstances.
