Further Proof of my Skills

Acouple items to note:
1. The gentleman was in his 70's
2. It was later than midnight & he was just getting started
3. His hand is definitely on my upper thigh.

To the Woman in the Blue Sweatsuit

Hi. I'm Morgan. You probably didn't notice me because you were so absorbed in having two conversations at once and not paying attention to the fact that you were checking out groceries at the Harris Teeter. I really appreciate you not only shouting across lanes to dissect your mother's savings but also talking louding on the phone.
Oh, and by the way, when you plan on using FIFTY coupons...how about being organized enough to a) pull them out of your purse, b) sort the ones you're using and c) hand them to the cashier instead of throwing them on the conveyor belt (because of course you're too busy chatting).
I think the best thing about you, however, is the fact that you refused to start writing the check until you completed that important conversation about Rebecca's hair. I can say with confidence that I too, think blonde does not suit her.
So thanks. Appreciate the extra 20 minutes in the aisle to collect my thoughts.
Oh yeah. Those two banana peels in your purse - I saw them. Good to see you're keeping it classy.

Smitten For...

...Curly Girl Design. The adorable Leigh started making fabulous cards full of whimsy and has since extended her craft to everything from calendars to mugs and cocktail napkins. Do yourself a favor and check her out - her website details local stores in your area where you can find her but you can also purchase online. Warning... you won't be able to leave her site without finding something you love. I can't tell you the number of compliments I've gotten on cards and gifts I bought through Curly Girl.
Shout to Scheuerman who introduced me to CGD - still thanking you to this day.

Sending Leslie into Matrimony Right...

We've returned from Sea Island, GA and while I can't divulge too many details (mainly to protect our careers and reputations), I can share a few photos from the weekend.

I've been told I can dance. I think this picture proves it.

These southern gentlemen decided to serenade our bachelorette with the ever popular "You've Lost that Loving Feeling." I just wish there had been a little less sweat and a little more singing ability.

What's better than relaxing a the spa after a late night of bachelorette fun? That's right. NOTHING.

Thanks for a great weekend ladies!

Ta-Ta!

Dear Friends.... I'll be logging off for a few days to celebrate the final single days of my sweet friend Leslie. We'll be frolicking in the above picture... I know you're jealous but I promise to return with many stories and pictures! Enjoy your weekend! xo

It's No New York Fashion Week....

...but it's Charleston Fashion Week and it lived up to its hype. Four of my girlfriends and I went tonight and had a great time. What's not to love... good music, cheap booze, and good fashion. It actually felt like the perfect mix between NYC fashion and Charleston vibe. So glad we went!

We met at Kel's house and her adorable husband brought us dinner, took care of the kids, and wished us well on our way. Here are my beautiful friends. I'm a lucky girl.

A little self portrait at the show...

The best show by far II Brunettes . Charlestonians.... go now. Dying for that hair. Free flowing, wavy, and adorned with a headband. My sweet Taza might be perfect?!

The Seedlings Sprout!

Seedling Update! The little ones are doing so great! Rosemary & Lavender are still the underdogs. Any ideas for the strugglers? Do they need any type of extra TLC?

Sorry, You're Not Worth the Hype

Dear New Pair of Hanky Panky Underwear,

You weren't worth the hype. I paid $18 dollars for you this weekend with high hopes. My hopes were dashed today when I realized my GAP stand bys were better than you; with a nicer price tag.

While I love the color (heart you coral) - I'm breaking up with you.

It's not me; it's you.

Best,
Morgan

My Own Little Stimulus Plan

Happy Sunday! I so love Sunday's.... they are my day to do whatever I please and today I felt like shopping. So I browsed a few shops with my mom in the a.m. but didn't find anything that spoke to me. So I came home, putzed around the house for a bit, and decided to check www.anthropologie.com (It will be a sweet sweet day when Anthro finds it's way to Charleston).
After browsing for a L-O-N-G time and filling my cart with 8 items.... I was ready to check out. Ran downstairs to get the CC numbers (you'd think I'd have them memorized by now) and start to enter them online. I suddenly realize I really shouldn't. Really want to but really shouldn't.
So I logged off, sans purchases, and went straight to my closet with one mission:
Create a week's worth of outfits from clothing I haven't worn yet this year.
So here they are, in all their glory. (Only four because I have Friday off... Y.E.S) It was actually much easier than expected and totally gratifying to make new outfits that I've never put together before and definitely haven't worn this year. I encourage you all, dear blog friends, to do the same. You'll be surprised what you have in your closet.
Sorry Anthropologie.... it was difficult but I assure you I'll be back again.

Date Night

Heading to dinner.
Isn't he cute?
Enjoying my old stand by - Stoli & Soda

Guy and I went to Bambu tonight and had a fun night. We started at the bar, watched some March Maddness (Go Purdue! Have to support the Big Ten) and got a table after only 20 minutes. We started our meal with lobster wontons (amazing!) & a cucumber/spicy tuna/crab roll. Both were great. We rounded out the meal with Pad Thai (him) & Thai Basil (her). Both were good. Nothing earth shattering but worth the trip and exciting to have in Mt. Pleasant.

Enjoy Your Weekend! xo

Take after Gus Gus and relax.

This is why I shouldn't be allowed in the grocery store alone.

Guy - please don't leave me to fend for dinner on my own again.

Practicing (some) Restraint

Coveting this tonight. Trying to be good since I just bought a vintage leather saddlebag (SWOON) on Etsy .

Kel & Margo boozing at work. Seriously ladies, let's chat.
It' a love/hate relationship with this picture. While I love the fact that G&G are bonding, I hate that Gus chose Guy over me. Where's the loyalty?

Our morning routine. One would think I wasn't giving the little fellow water based on his morning dash for the last few precious drips....

Small Act of Kindness

Marketing Genius
I’m sure you’ve seen this commercial. Pure. Genius. Great song by a relatively unknown artist. Pulls on your karmic heartstring in under 60 seconds.

Remember how I said I find inspiration in the most unlikely places? Yeah – here’s another one. Every time I see this commercial I’m reminded of this random time in Starbucks. I have a slight addiction to Chai Lattes (Non fat, no foam please) and go out of my way in the morning to get one. This one morning I was having a rough go of it, down for one reason or another, and trying to trudge through my morning. I ordered my usual from Patrick (I miss you P, please come back to Belle Hall, it’s not the same without you) and all of the sudden this man two people back jumped up and thrust his card in front of mine and offered to pay for my drink. I was taken a back and just looked at him quizzically. He simply said “You look like you’re having a rough morning and I thought this might be a small way to make it better.”

What he did wasn’t earth shattering or heroic. But it was kind and without realizing it, exactly what I needed at that moment. I think of him often, remember his face, and to this day silently thank him for doing something small and kind to a complete stranger.
Do something nice today. Doesn’t need to involve money or a grand gesture. Open the door for a co-worker. Genuinely thank someone. I promise it will make their day; and in turn yours as well.

I can't wait to meet you. Please keep growing.
Thyme - way to be an overachiever. You are my favorite.
Lavender - you've been a disappointment but I'm willing to give you another shot.

Fool Me Once, Shame on You; Fool Me Twice, Shame on Me

Last night my friends and I learned our lesson. We went to see Ryan Adams and for most of us it was the second time after a disappointing first go around (He was drunk, beligerent, & nasty the first time....). Last night started out great....

We went to Jim & Nick's for BBQ and cold brews on the patio. We had a good group, were excited to be seeing Ryan again, and had a good feeling about the show since he JUST had gotten married the night before. Who wouldn't be in a good mood??

So we head to the venue, grab another drink, and take our seats. Surprisingly Ryan starts on time and is in a good mood. We all look at each other and decide this is going to be a good show and are thankful we gave him another chance. Unfortunately we made our opinions up too soon.

Bottom line...the band played for 30 minutes, took a 10 minute break for "ear piece issues",came back and played another 40 minutes, and CALLED IT QUITS. Who plays a show, charges $35/ticket, and doesn't play an Encore? Who plays a hour show at all these days? Ryan Adams is who. What a d-bag.

I Heart Rockstar Diaries

I find inspiration in the most unlikely places.
Rewind to last night.
I force Guy to watch American Idol (who I still believe secretly likes AI) while I’m on
www.etsy.com like I am every night. I’m sorting through the various ‘Pounce’ options and stumble across Taza & the Prince. At first glance it looks like a regular Etsy shop although more adorable than most. I peruse through her inventory, happen upon her profile information, and immediately fall in love. Turns out Taza & the Prince also has a separate blog named ‘Rockstar Diaries.’
I.can’t. stop. reading. it.
Naomi has let the world into her darling little life… explaining it through pictures and stories. Being a recent addition to the blogosphere, I immediately was inspired. Inspired to dust off my three (previously precious) cameras, and start documenting my life in a way I did back in college. I haven’t been this excited in a long time. So thank you Naomi.

Moving on, literally, is my dear friend Sandy.
She’s been a rock in my life for the last 5 years and is leaving Charleston today to start a new adventure in London. Sending you all the love in the world Sandy – we’ll miss you dearly. xo

Growing up in the 80's was so easy

Exact conversation overheard this weekend.

Jimmie: Chris Brown is going to jail. Did you know that?
Uncle: I heard something about that. He beat his girlfriend right?
Jimmie: Duh. Rihanna.
Uncle: I’m 37 Jim-bo. I’m out of the loop. At least I knew what you’re talking about.
Jimmie: Well I know why he beat her and why he’s going to jail.
Uncle: Oh yeah?
Jimmie: She gave him a STD.

At this point Guy and I about fall out of our chair for various reasons:
1. You don’t expect STD talk at the Charleston Battery games
2. Especially from a 10 year old
3. You also don’t realize your eavesdropping until an STD bomb is dropped by a 10 year old.

I fear for the day I have children. If 10 year olds are hip to STD’s now… what will kids be like in 10-15 years!!!

My iTunes are trying to tell me something

One thing I love about Facebook is that it gives you ample amount of opportunities to waste time. I blew off my chiropractor appointment this morning so I had an extra 30 minutes on my hands and I'll be damned if I do something productive with it. SO... I did the following:

1. Put Your iTunes on Shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. You must write down the name of the song no matter how silly it sounds!
4. Put any comments in brackets after the song name.
5. Tag at least 10 friends

1) What do your friends think of you? Please Don't Talk about Murder While I'm Eating by Ben Harper
2) If someone says, “Is this okay?” You say? Evergreen by The Black Crowes
3) How would you describe yourself?Ex-Girlfriend by No Doubt (HA!)
4) What do you like in a guy/girl?Everything by Michael Buble
5) How do you feel today? One Love/People Get Ready by Bob Marley (this is getting creepy)
6) What is your life’s purpose? The People by Common
7) What is your motto?Take it From Here by Justin Timberlake (SERIOUSLY!)
8) What do you think about very often?Inside Job by Pearl Jam
9) What do you think of your best friend?Waiting by City and Colour
10) What do you think of the person you like?Big Wave by Pearl Jam (???)
11) What is your life story?Laugh As the Sun by Rusted Root
12) What do you want to be when you grow up?Ya te Echo de Menos by La Foundation
13) What do you think of when you see the person you like/love?Never Tear Us Apart by INXS (okay, seriously, this thing is crazy...)
14) What will you dance to at your wedding? When it Hurts So Bad by Lauren Hill
15) What will they play at your funeral? Not Too Late by Norah Jones (An afterlife perhaps??)

16) What is your hobby/interest?Little Black Sandals by Sia (OH. MY. GOD.)
17 ) What is your biggest fear?Pleasure and Pain by Ben Harper
18) What is your biggest secret?Crossed Out Name by Ryan Adams
19) What do you think of your friends?A Long December by Counting Crows
20) What will you post this as?I Love the Rain by Lenny Kravitz

Since this post was dedicated to music.....did you see Justin Timberlake on Jimmy Fallon? Fast forward to 5.25 minute for the best part if you're in a rush

Miscellaneous Monday

HELP.

Junk mail is an age old problem. Fortunately there are companies that are trying to help declutter our mailbox. It never really affected my life, persay, but it definitely affected the cleanliness of my car since I consistently littered the bottom of my car with junk mail. For months on end. To the point where friends slightly judged me. It was THAT bad. Fortunately I was able to control my car littering and now have a new junk mail problem – only the cyber kind. And I have no one to blame but myself….

Let me paint the picture of my daily inbox:
-~50-70 legit work emails
-~20 non legit work emails
-Travelzoo Update email
-Travelocity Update email
-Daily Candy email
-SaleItToMe email
-Etsy Find email
-~20 FelineAsthma Yahoo Group emails
-Discovercard email
- ASPCA Volunteer Update email

And the list could go on and on and on. The worst thing about this list is that I’ve ASKED these retched vendors to email me and am too lazy to ask them to stop. AHH. So I’m punishing myself and will be taking tonight to opt out of all of these crazy companies emails which as you probably know is extremely painful because they make you sign in , give your mother’s maiden name, promise your first born, choose which email list you’re opting out from, retina scan, and finally spell the words ‘DicE77In’ to authenticate.

The positive side of this all is that I’ll have my good friend Clo du Buis joining me so it can’t be that bad, can it?
