uuuggggggggggggggh.

Alright ladies - I may lose a few friends/followers over this but I feel I need to be true to my feelings.
I. HATE. UGGS.
I'm in Washington D.C. for the day for business and was just out grabbing my tea when I saw more than one girl wearing uggs and I flinched. TWICE. They are so not cute. Why would you want to GIVE yourself cankles? WHY LADIES WHY???
It's like the makers of Ugg's knew they were hideous when they came up with the name. Who would name their shoe after a sentiment you express when you have gut rot.... or you see a hot mess on the street. It's just not right people.

And let's get real... if they look awful on celebrities... chances are they aren't going to look great on us common folk. Take the above pictures as evidence. It goes from ughhh, to UGGGHHH, to UGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH. (Why would you do that to yourself Jen?!? WHY?)

Please. I beg of you. Say No to Uggs. Don't give the excuse that they're comfortable. My slippers are comfortable but you don't see my rocking those to the mall. And warm? PUUULLLEASE. This girl is from Wisconsin and knows cold. There are MUCH cuter ways to keep your feet warm.

Please don't hate me. Just had to get that out. Your feet are all too cute for these. I promise.

LOL, your funny. I do own a pair of UGGS that I wear Jan and Feb when it's like -15* in Chicago and my feet will fall off otherwise. I do agree that they are really UGG-ly. But yes I do wear them not proudly LOL. And celebs, especially those living in warm LA should NOT wear them.

AMEN.

I have a pair of Uggs too, but don't wear them often. My favorite celeb "NO!" wearing them is when Britney Spears wears them with cut-off shorts in LA. Srrsly?? :-)

My sister-in-law has uggs...she's Australian and quite rightly tells us all they are slippers for cold Aussie winters

I agree...I hate Uggs. They are truly UGGG-LY. I can't stand those or Crocs. I don't care how comfy they are.

I will not stop following... but I don't agree. Well, I agree they are unattractive, and yet I just don't care. They are warm. And I have yet to find anything warmer... they are my foot friends :)

I love you so much! Stop following? UM, NEVER, YO! Big hands and all! I KID!
Have you seen my BUTT?

I don't like the eggs you have in this post. I like the ones that do not look like UGGS. In fact, I own UGG winter boots and people have no clue that they are UGGS!

I mean UGGS not eggs. I HATE EGGS!

Lady, I can agree that they aren't that great looking and there are better ways to cloth your feet in warmth, but I succumbed to the trend last year --mostly because I realized they are truly perfect for what they were made for: apres-ski. Yanking off ski boots after a day on the slopes, you just want your slippers and you want warmth and something not so structured that you can wear in the snow. But I did what I promised I wouldn't do... I wear them out! And not just run to the grocery store out... I wear them with jeans on date nights and out with my girls. Eeek. It's ok though, my feet are happy! I'm with Mayra on that one!

A couple caveats:

1. I didn't shell out a ridiculous amount of money on them. I bought what I refer to as Fuggs = Fake Uggs. Mine are Bearpaws, which are a quality substitute for half the price.

2. I do not wear my pants inside of them, and I do not wear them with skirts (or God forbid, shorts! They are winter boots people! I don't care of the sheepskin regulates the temperature of your feet). I hide the cankles, and my flare-leg pants cover as much of their unattractiveness as possible.

I'm not going to hate you for sharing your opinion by any means. But I love my Fuggs!

Are they attractive. Do I wear them when it's super cold. Yup. Seeing as I live in Florida, that's about once a year. Ah ha

Typed so fast, that I forget to put in there that I do concur with your stance on their ugliness. ah ha

I could not agree with you more. I never thought about them making cankles, but you are so right! Ugh, and the rolled down Uggs make the hideous boots look even Ugggglier.
