who doesn't like a little friendly competition?!

My college girls and I have decided to kick each other's butts in shape. We're starting the 'Game On' competition today. It's a month long competition to get fit and feel better about yourself. I'm really excited and thought others might be interested as I haven't seen an approach like this before.

It's technically called a 'diet' but there isn't anything diet about it. It's about being more aware of what you eat, drink, do, and don't do. You earn points each day, have ways to lose points, and at the end of a month... whoever has the most points wins! You pick a prize amongst your friends (we're doing a spa gift certificate) so you have some motivation to stick to the plan. And honestly... it doesn't sound all that diffcult. (I say that now.... on the first day)

Per day, you have to:
- eat 5 small, healthy meals
- drink 3 liters of water
- exercise at least 20 minutes
- sleep 7 hours
- communicate with at least one player
- quit a bad habit (I'm giving up the Diet Coke... help me heaven above)
- start a new, healthy habit

All of these things give you points.... but points can be subtracted by things like:

- alcohol consumption (THIS WILL NOT BE EASY...)
- snacking on bad food

You get one day off and one meal off per week. Not bad! I already know Saturdays are going to be my day off as its football season and that means the bar..... bar food.... and Miller Lites.

I'll let you know how it goes! I"m excited and think it's a great way to get in shape, be cognitive of what I'm doing and eating... plus a reason to be in touch with my lovies on a daily basis!!

GAME ON.

If you honestly can give up Diet Coke, I think you deserve more than a spa gift certificate. In fact, if you succeed, I would prepare for the second coming of Christ!! I'm pulling for ya!

I have worked my way down to around 2 diet cokes a week now and it was SO hard to do. It's amazing how much I crave them. It wasn't b/c of the caffeine for me...I am trying cut out all artificial sweetners our of my diet. NOT something easy to do but I feel sure it will be well worth it in the long run. Good luck and I hope you win the spa prize!
