My current makeup routine is mascara. If I’m feeling real feisty I’ll add some blush. (watch out people!) All I want is to learn how to put eyeliner on. I’ve tried MANY times and every time it looks like my 3 year old niece did my makeup. Actually, I take that back, she’s probably more coordinated than me when it comes to this. So pathetic.Does anyone else have this fear? Am I as hopeless as I’m thinking I am? (and please, someone be honest and tell me to man up and just walk to my local Clinique counter!)

Haha. I feel the same way. I actually never wear any makeup (except for lipstick occasionally), so I have no knowledge of makeup whatsoever. If you have an interest, though, you should definitely go to a counter! I bet they could teach you lots of little tricks :)
You are not alone... Being a student has its perks because I just wake up and go to class, without any thing on but facial sunscreen. I'm lost too... maybe someday I'll work at being pretty.
Practice makes perfect. I am about to turn 30 and I just finally figured it all out. As for eyeliners, I find the liquid ones work better than the pencils - its a more precise line. If you hold your eyelid out with one hand and use the liner with another, you shoudl be okay. Just follow the edge of your lid. Eyeshadow is a bit more difficult. I haven't quite gotten that one down.
I think if you are comfortable in your skin with no makeup stay that way ;)
I wear makeup....lots of it (i'm slightly insecure)....my fiance loves my face best when I have no makeup on or just mascara.
I'm a makeup addict though.
I don't have a clue either - I use a bit of concealer, and save the mascara and blusher for when I feel brave. I'm actually considering purchasing some tinted moisturiser (foundation is a little too scary!), but lipstick, eye liner and eyeshadow - I just cannot fathom how to use them. I'd like to. And kind of like you, I'm 27 and feel a bit stupid about having to go to a make-up counter and admit that I don't have a clue about what most girls picked up in their teenage years! xx
Go get the eyeliner that's a pencil, but you can click it up, instead of sharpening it. It has an eraser on the other side so if you draw a jagged line, you can smudge it & it's smoother. Then invest in some neutral eye shadow so you can tone down any mistakes.
find a friend, that you trust, and that knows how to do makeup and have them help you. that's how i learned to blend eyeshadow and silly things like that. just make sure it's not someone who secretly wants to poke you in the eye!
Sweet Morgan - you don't need makeup. You are lucky, go with it!
Miss MJ- I can also confirm that you certainly don't need it but it can be fun! Bow up and ask the Bobbi Brown girl to show you the ropes. You'll make her day!
Better yet, come over and let me make you up one day soon!
xoxo
Thanks for your comment on my site! I adore your header, and your site is pretty cute too.
A word of advice re: make-up... don't do it!! I envy girls who can go about their days just wearing mascara and being comfortable. Make-up is some kind of weird addiction. Having said that, it can be fun, so I wouldn't be intimidated by the girls at the counters... I'd say half of them don't know what they're doing anyway!
