you have to try these.

I mentioned here my obsession with Guy's homemade onion rings.
He made them last night and they lived up to all my hopes and dreams.
Aren't they pretty?

Here's how you make them.
1. Cut two onions (we used sweet yellow onions) and soak them in buttermilk for at least 30 munutes. The longer the better though.
2. While heating the oil, batter them in flour and cornmeal (the secret ingredient).
3. Fry until golden - usually only 2 minutes each side.
4. Immediately pat them dry and salt them.
5. Sneak one to eat without Guy looking.

6. Keep them warm in the oven until all are done.
7. ENJOY! (and boy will you ever!!!)

Um....delicious! Do you find yourself, being from WI, also loving everything deep fried? I swear, my friends from elsewhere are SO puzzled by the love of deep fried items, especially cheese curds. I lived in California for a while, and not a soul out there knew about cheese curds. What a tragedy!

I'm glad you enjoyed a little Door County flashback :) Thanks for stopping by my blog!
